Dr Mohamed Sultan, Governor of Alexandria, met with a parliamentary delegation of the Committee of Culture, Information and Antiquities in the Parliament to discuss the development of the Abo Mina area in all respects to make it a tourist attraction site.
Sultan emphasized the keenness of the governorate to provide all necessary assistance for the files of monuments and the development of archaeological sites.He tasked
to form a committee of all concerned bodies to set out comprehensive vision for development in coordination with the Ministry of Antiquities to
discuss ways of saving this site,
the Armenian Monastery of Deir Mermina, registered on the World Heritage lists since 1979 and within the UNESCO list of human heritage to be the only archaeological site for Alexandria city among seven sites of Egypt.
