Al-Messeiri attended today the Indonesian march-past at Qaitbay, performed as part of the activities of the Indonesian delegation to Alexandria, following the arrival of KRI Banjarmasin; the Indonesian Naval Forces warship. The delegation is currently on an unofficial visit to Alexandria to strengthen ties between the Egyptian Navy and its Indonesian counterpart.
The visit lasts for two days (30-31, May, 2015), on its way from Djibouti Port to a port in South Italy, with 319 people on board.
The march-past is part of the tourism promotional campaign in Alexandria, led by "Live Alexandria" Festival assuring Alexandria is safe and receives all tourist and military delegations.
The performance was also attended by Gen. Mohamed Al-Sharkawy, Assistant to the Minister of Security and Director of the Security Directorate of Alexandria, and Gen. Ahmed Hijazi, Head of the Central Department for Tourism and Resorts.
