Alexandria Governor Receives French Consul General and French Development Agency Delegation to Discuss Ongoing Development Projects
 
Eng. Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, received Ms. Lina Blin, Consul General of France in Alexandria, along with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD), to discuss avenues of joint cooperation and review a number of development projects currently being implemented across the governorate. The delegation included Ms. Clémence Vidal de La Blache, Director of the French Development Agency Office in Egypt; Mr. Mohamed El Fangary, Head of the Urban Development and Transport Unit at the Agency; and Ms. Amal Machachti, Energy Projects Manager at the French Development Agency in Egypt. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Salah, Secretary General of Alexandria Governorate, and Eng. Samia Hamed, Director of the Infrastructure Unit. At the outset of the meeting, the Governor welcomed the attendees, praising the ongoing cooperation between Alexandria Governorate and the French Development Agency, and commending the efforts of the French side in supporting a number of development and service projects throughout the governorate. For her part, Ms. Lina Blin, Consul General of France in Alexandria, expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and affirmed the French side’s commitment to continuing cooperation with Alexandria Governorate across various development sectors. During the meeting, Ms. Clémence Vidal de La Blache emphasized the French Development Agency’s interest in identifying Alexandria Governorate’s future priorities and needs in order to explore the possibility of implementing new projects that would support sustainable development efforts and maximize benefits for citizens. Eng. Ayman Attia affirmed that Alexandria Governorate places the interests of Alexandrians at the forefront of its priorities, stressing that the success of any project is measured by the extent of its positive impact on improving citizens’ quality of life and enhancing the services provided to them. The French Development Agency delegation also reviewed a number of joint projects currently underway in the governorate, including green energy projects, waste recycling initiatives, the Alexandria Metro Project, the rehabilitation of the Raml Tram, Senghor University in Borg El Arab City, and several air quality improvement projects. During the meeting, the Governor presented a number of ideas and proposals aimed at maximizing the benefits of ongoing projects and enhancing their developmental and service impact. At the conclusion of the meeting, the French Development Agency delegation expressed its aspiration to continue cooperation with Alexandria Governorate during the coming period and to implement additional development projects, reaffirming its appreciation for Alexandria and its distinguished cultural and historical standing.
