Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Alexandria, received in his office today Mr. Ioannis Pergakis, Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, accompanied by Dr. Alaa Saad, Legal Advisor to the Greek Consulate in Alexandria, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides. 🔻At the beginning of the meeting, the Governor of Alexandria welcomed the Greek Consul, praising the deep historical relations and ties that unite the two countries, stressing that these relations, which extend throughout history, have not been affected by global changes and developments, but have rather grown stronger and more interconnected over time. 🔻For his part, the Consul General confirmed what the Governor had said, congratulating him on assuming his new position, and expressing his pleasure at cooperating with him to explore avenues of cooperation between Alexandria and Greece, noting the great similarity between the two sides, as well as the fact that the Greek community in Alexandria is one of the oldest foreign communities in the city and has a long history of presence and cultural influence. 🔻During the meeting, ways to attract as many Greek investors as possible to Alexandria were discussed, and the two sides reviewed a number of cultural activities and events that could be held in Alexandria, reflecting the depth of the civilizational and cultural ties between the two sides. 🔻At the end of the meeting, the Consul expressed his thanks to the Governor of Alexandria for the kind invitation to attend the annual Iftar organized by the Governorate, stressing his happiness to participate in this event, which was characterized by a spirit of friendship and tolerance among all segments of Alexandrian society, and praising the good organization despite the large and diverse attendance from various sects and spectrums of society. For his part, the Consul General affirmed the Governor's remarks, extending his congratulations on the occasion of assuming his new role. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate in exploring prospects for enhanced cooperation between Alexandria and Greece. He further highlighted the great similarities between the two sides, noting that the Greek community in Alexandria is among the oldest foreign communities in the city, with a rich legacy of presence and cultural influence. During the meeting, discussions addressed mechanisms to attract a greater number of Greek investors to Alexandria.
