Within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030 and National Climate Change Strategy 2050, which seek to proactively address the impacts of climate change through offering creative and practical environmental protection solutions, two projects from the Alexandria Governorate won in the third round of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects.
The Governor of Alexandria, vice admiral Ahmed Khaled Hassan Said, expressed his pride and pleasure for the winning of the two projects ,which the Governorate had submitted in the Large-Scale projects category of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects' third round, the ceremony was held in the presence of the prime minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly .
Alexandria Governorate won the first and the third place for the two projects (sustainable transportation and using excess hydrogen as fuel for steam boiler production rather than natural gas) .
The Governor of Alexandria stressed that since the beginning of the initiative, the Governorate has been keen to participate,
His Excellency commended the significant efforts made by Alexandria's participants and the initiative coordinator in the governorate.
🔻It is worth noting that the number of projects participating in the third round of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects reached approximately 5,797 projects, representing all governorates of the Republic.
777 projects participated in the large-scale projects category, 1,053 in the medium-sized projects category, 683 in the small local projects category, 1,083 in the start-up companies category, 1,150 in the non-profit projects category, and 1,151 projects participated in the women's category.
