Alexandria Governor Meets with U.S. Ambassador to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
 
Major General Mohamed El Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, received today in his office Ms. Hero Mustafa, the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Arab Republic of Egypt, to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation and the development of relations between both sides on all levels. The meeting was attended by Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governor, Ms. Erin Tariot, Cultural Attaché of the American Embassy, and Ms. Jona Lea, Education Development Officer at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). At the beginning of the meeting, the governor welcomed the ambassador to Alexandria, emphasizing that Alexandria is Egypt's economic capital, home to nearly 4500 factories across various sectors, and accounting for around 65% of the Republic's exports and imports. The governor also expressed his pleasure at the meeting to enhance and develop relations between both sides, welcoming cooperation with the American side. In turn, the ambassador welcomed the mutual cooperation between both sides, expressing her keenness to visit Alexandria as Egypt's second capital. She mentioned her intention to visit the University Center for Professional Development supported by USAID, as well as the Library of Alexandria, in addition to attending the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival.
