Dr Abd El-Aziz Qonsowa, Governor of Alexandria accompanied by Dr Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports attended the closing ceremony of the first water sports festival under the slogan "Challenge and Adventure" with the participation of 450 young people. They also inaugurated the development works done within the Olympic Club as to accommodate the largest number of members of the club.They lay the foundation stone for the development and upgrading of Smouha Youth Center as well. The idea of the project is to make use of all the unused areas of youth centers in order to provide new sports services and to intensify activities to young people .The Minister said that Egypt is currently experiencing a major sporting boom and Alexandria is a role model for this. The governor
stressed the keenness of the governorate to provide full support to increase sports activities, praising the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and support for sports, clubs and youth centers in Alexandria.
