During the meeting, Al-Messeiri stated that in the next few days, around 900 families at Koum Al-Malh neighborhood, and Al Hadaba Al-Sineya, will be moved to houses at Egy-Cap by the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, highlighting that the area of Al-Max pumps is being rehabilitated as part of the Governorate’s slum development scheme. The Governor added that in the past few days, many medical convoys have been organized targeting Khorshid area and several villages at Abis to provide all required medical services to residents of different villages. Al-Messeiri mentioned it was the first time to hold the Governorate Executive Council meeting at Kirdahi, Khorshid. Many problems were resolved, including the allocation of 7 million Egyptian pounds to pave the main roads in the neighborhood, and rehabilitate the lighting network and light poles at Khorshid to be finished tomorrow May 31, only 20 days after the Executive Council meeting. In addition, the sewage problem was also sorted out and incorporated within the Governorate’s action plan for the year 2015/2016, among other problems. The adoption of the ISO system at districts is underway, paving the way for a significant improvement in the performance of district offices. Mahlab expressed his firm belief in decentralization, emphasizing that decision making must be, first and foremost, for the benefit of citizens. He stressed that all officials should collaborate and share a new spirit, explaining that during this phase, great efforts must be efficiently exerted with unlimited number of working hours. He also asked officials to make all services and food commodities available for citizens, particularly with Ramadan at the doors. Citizens should feel blessed and happily enjoy Ramadan, said Mahlab, saying “I am well aware of the difficulties and bottlenecks of the governorate, which is why we are here to serve citizens and we assure them they have rights and we strive to serve them.”
